ABOUT US

Hi! We are Lark and Lily Bodnar, a California born, North Carolina raised sibling pair running on coffee, Google Docs, and the "how hard could it be" gene. Lark performed in her first musical at age 8, as Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, with four-year-old Lily right beside them as the leader of the Lullaby League. Through this early exposure to hard work and joys of the stage, theater and music became our primary forms of artistic expression.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Lark was home from college and while working together, our running joke of one day writing a musical became a reality. We began crafting on guitar and piano, letting intuition and determination be our guides.

Within a year, our first musical was shaped and gently staged with a cast of twelve close friends. This experience led us further into the creative world, to the writing of our current works in progress: Royal Flush, Slender Aphrodite, Lucklaster High, Rook, and Dreamwalkers. Wingarden Creative also creates theater for young audiences as part of Wingarden Sprouts. Currently, Lark and Lily are based in Hickory, North Carolina as they continue to work on these projects after returning from the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center's National Music Theater Institute. 

We are both composers, writers, and lyricists dedicated to creating socially relevant and emotionally intelligent works, expanding the genres and artistry by which impactful narratives are told.
