In the year 1922, prohibition is in full swing, along with the nightlife of New York City. Eleanor has recently taken a performing job at the speakeasy called Slender Aphrodite, which unbeknownst to her, is the front for a prominent gang. When the "son" of the mob boss, Lewis, catches her attention, the two grow closer, beginning a romance. As tensions between gangs rise and "Lewis" is revealed to be Jane, the couple must rely on more than love to keep them together.
